The 9th Annual Choo Choo Open - Friday August 28th, 2009.

Enjoy a wonderful, summer ride on the Adirondack Train. You’ll be leaving Union Station, Utica at 8:15 a.m. and then energizing yourself with a great day of golf with business associates, family and friends.

Network with the business community of Central New York in a relaxed, friendly environment and help the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area.

Your entry fee includes:

Buy your tickets before Wednesday, July 15th and receive $20 discount per person.

Reservations must be received before August 14th to the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce, 200 Genesee Street, Utica, NY 13502, e-mail at info@mvchamber.org, or fax to (315) 724-3177. To receive the discount, reservations must be received by July 15th. Your payment is your reservation, all reservations are non-refundable.

Participation Packages:

Package A - Shopping/Museum Package -$79: Meet Peg Masters on the Van Aukens porch to begin the Historic Thendara Walking Tour. Learn about the history of Thendara and its historic buildings, dating back 200 years. Then, board buses for downtown Old Forge. Participants will shop, visit the Goodsell Museum and eat lunch at local restaurants. After lunch, meet Peg Masters at the Old Forge Hardware for the Historic Main Street Walking Tour (approximately 45 minutes). Learn more about the history of Old Forge and its historic buildings. The last bus shuttle will return everyone to the train station at 4:00.

Package B - Chairlift and Cruise -$139: Take a ride on the McCauley Mountain Scenic Chairlift for spectacular views of the Fulton Chain of Lakes. On a clear day you can see Whiteface Mountain and Mount Marcy. Then, enjoy a Picnic Lunch Cruise through the first four lakes of the Fulton Chain. While cruising enjoy a freshly prepared Subway lunch.

Package C - Tickner's Moose River Canoe Trips -$129: Board shuttle vans from Tickner’s Moose River Canoe Trips. Get fitted for lifejackets and paddles. Get dropped off at the North Street Bridge along the Moose River. Enjoy an unguided excursion down the Moose. Pristine Adirondack scenery surrounds you as you float down this winding river. Small sand beaches dot the banks and are ideal for picnicking (bag lunches will be provided). Wildlife such as deer, beaver, otter and the Great Blue heron are frequently spotted along the shores. One short portage is required along a well-marked trail. Approximately 8 miles, leisurely 4 hours.

Package D - Frisky Otter Tours -$129: Peaceful day of kayaking with lunch at the Woods Inn. Paddle on the less traveled waterways. Opportunity to see Loons and Osprey.

All packages include continental breakfast at the train station, a ride to Thendara and back on the Choo Choo For Charity Express, lunch (except the Historic Walking Tour), dinner and a grand time with friends and family.
